SMASH-HCM Poster

We had the opportunity to present our project and our work on Digital Twin technology for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) at the International Conference & the 29th Finnish National Conference on Telemedicine and eHealth in Tampere. And we are happy to announce that our poster was awarded the best poster at the conference. We aim to change the way patient care is approached, by using digital twins to simulate unique treatment scenarios based on the patient’s individual data.

We are currently defining initial requirements for a digital health tool that can enhance self-care of HCM patients. Patient engagement is vital for improving health outcomes. So, digital health tools that are designed with user-centred approaches can benefit a patient, as it increases the likelihood of adhering to treatment plans and reduces readmissions to hospital.

One way to boost engagement with digital health tools is by implementing gamification, the inclusion of game-like elements, such as achievements or rewards, and other interactive elements. This makes the tool more enjoyable to use and can significantly increase the patient’s motivation to use it, which in return benefits them because they are actively involved in their self-care routines.
